About the Role

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team as a Lead in maintaining our fleet of road equipment. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience with diesel mechanics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Document all repairs, parts used, and completion of preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance shop personnel to ensure efficient operations.
  • Perform road service calls and handle road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic or reefer experience.
  • Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with drivers and coworkers.
  • Capacity to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated at $42,000 per year, with a starting hourly wage of $32 per hour. Additionally, you will be eligible for a retention bonus of $10,000 and an annual tool allowance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance, effective from day one of employment.

Work Schedule and Culture

This role involves working Sunday to Friday, 11pm-7:30am, with flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs.
