Diesel Equipment Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our fleet's diesel equipment. Your expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
With a strong focus on safety and efficiency, you will work closely with other team members to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. Your ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment will be essential in meeting the demands of this dynamic role.
Key Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or equivalent. You will be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting and repairing diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.
- Performing preventative maintenance within company standards.
- Documenting repairs and maintenance logs, as well as tracking assigned repairs.
- Providing road rescue services as needed.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong analytical mindset. You will also need to be familiar with EPA and OSHA regulations and have the ability to read and understand technical manuals. Additionally, you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing organizational needs.
