Role Overview

As a Smog & Repair Technician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and conducting smog inspections on various vehicles. Your technical knowledge will ensure that our clients' vehicles comply with all regulatory requirements and operate efficiently. You will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere where precision and customer satisfaction are of utmost importance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform smog inspections and emissions evaluations in accordance with state regulations.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues in vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately pinpoint vehicle problems.
  • Effectively communicate with service advisors and clients regarding vehicle conditions, necessary repairs, and recommendations.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in automotive technology and repair methodologies.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations diligently.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Smog & Repair Technician

  • ASE Certification or equivalent automotive repair credential.
  • State smog technician license.
  • At least 2 years of experience in automotive repair.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Corporate Hiring Requirements

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening – THC is not included in the screening.
