Retail Store Support Specialist - Customer / Operations

We are seeking a dedicated Retail Store Support Specialist to become an integral part of our dynamic Store Team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals without prior sales experience. The role offers comprehensive on-the-job training in a supportive capacity while mastering effective selling strategies. At Lamps Plus, we view this position as a stepping stone to more rewarding roles, allowing you to leverage your newly acquired skills for financial success. Candidates in this role will be encouraged to transition into a fully commissioned sales position with limitless earning potential after completing a structured training period with the stock team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures retail quality control by verifying the receipt of merchandise through careful counting of delivery items.
- Assists in receiving incoming merchandise and aids in loading and unloading within the store's warehouse for stocking or restocking purposes.
- Notifies the Store Manager or Support Supervisor regarding any discrepancies or damaged items.
- Organizes merchandise on shelves based on style, size, and type, including stocking and restocking duties.
- May assist in tracking inventory, tagging, or labeling shelves as required.
- Handles unpacking, storing, transferring, receiving, hanging, or displaying retail items with care to prevent damage and injury.
- May perform clerical tasks such as filing, bank deposits, data entry, reports, and audits.
- Prepares products for display, which includes assembling, inserting bulbs, wiring, and pricing merchandise for the sales floor.
- Engages in various merchandising duties related to maintaining the stockroom, sales floor, and displays, including cleaning and ensuring showroom aisles are clear.
- May operate the register or kiosk to process sales or check product availability.
- Upholds all merchandising and currency handling in accordance with Corporate Security policies and completes assigned training modules.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service and focus, assisting with customer stock checks as needed.
- Supports team members by retrieving products and performing merchandise carry-outs for customers.
- Answers store phones and provides customer service over the phone.
- Completes assigned training modules to enhance product knowledge and the selling process.
- Engages with customers to address their lighting and decorative needs.

Qualifications:
- A motivated and positive individual who enjoys interacting with people and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Capability to climb ladders and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Availability to work during day shifts and weekends.
- Consistent job attendance is expected in accordance with the schedule established by the supervisor.
