POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Specialist is accountable for overseeing various human resources functions, with a focus on enhancing and managing the recruitment framework and retention strategies. Experience in the healthcare sector is highly desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Healthcare experience is mandatory
  • A minimum of one year of experience in recruitment and retention
  • Familiarity with recruitment methodologies, tools, and networks
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
  • Analytical skills to assess and recommend candidates, compile statistical reports, and forecast staffing requirements
  • Thorough understanding of local, regional, and national workforce trends affecting recruitment and retention
  • Proven capability to lead the development and execution of effective marketing and advertising initiatives
  • At least one year of experience in employee relations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exemplifies the organization’s customer service values, which are essential for delivering quality service.
  • Implements systems to ensure the identification and recruitment of qualified candidates for various roles using diverse methods such as external networking, advertising, job fairs, and agencies as necessary.
  • Oversees the recruitment process, including resume evaluations, phone interviews, in-person interviews, relevant assessments, reference checks, and credential verification. Recommends qualified candidates for documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Collaborates with management and relevant personnel to formulate plans, policies, and procedures for a centralized recruitment and retention program, which includes HR website content management, incentive programs, and recruitment committees.
  • Advises managers on specialized recruitment and retention needs, including job descriptions, internal transfers, creative sourcing strategies for challenging positions, and interviewing techniques.
  • Manages applicant screening processes, including interviews, reference checks, license verification, drug testing, and background checks. May suggest skill assessment techniques or other evaluation methods.
  • Establishes a system to ensure that displaced employees are appropriately placed within the organization according to established guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains a recruitment tracking database that provides insights for ongoing assessment and enhancement of the recruitment and retention strategy, including budget monitoring and activity reporting.
  • Facilitates the onboarding process for new hires, including coordinating and leading orientation sessions. Assists in the creation and delivery of various employee development programs.
  • Organizes outreach initiatives with community organizations, professional associations, and educational institutions to ensure a steady flow of qualified referrals.
