About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Management Specialist to join our team at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. As a key member of our Portfolio Management Group, you will play a critical role in analyzing the profitability of clients, businesses, and sectors to inform the strategic direction of the bank.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Analytical Tools: Design and implement advanced analytical tools, dashboards, and technology solutions to support portfolio management and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead Complex Projects: Independently manage complex projects, such as scenario analysis development or system improvement, with minimal supervision.
  • Source and Manage Data: Source relevant information and manage vendor relationships to procure external data for profitability benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Treasury: Lead our team's partnership with the broader finance and treasury organizations to ensure alignment on profitability and forecasting efforts.
  • Present Results to Senior Management: Present profitability results to senior management to enhance understanding of specific clients and sectors, and support strategic decision-making.
Requirements
  • 5-7 Years of Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in data and analytics, preferably in corporate banking.
  • Advanced Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and Tableau, with experience in automating data aggregation functionality.
  • Business Acumen: Proven ability to create informative and accurate reporting, and to explain complex profitability topics to a non-technical audience.
