POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for securing pre-authorization for all inpatient admissions and pre-certifications for outpatient diagnostic procedures while providing essential administrative support. The position necessitates the application and interpretation of policies and procedures with a high degree of independent judgment within a healthcare setting. The primary objective is to meet the performance targets established by Patient Access and the Medical Center to reduce revenue loss and enhance service payments. Staying informed about changes in carrier contracts and departmental guidelines is vital.

  • Evaluates information for pre-authorizations and certifications with insurance providers and workman's compensation.
  • Exhibits proficiency in computer systems and software for precise and timely data entry.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills to ensure job effectiveness.
  • Complies with established policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $26.83 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience
Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, attention to detail, and the ability to hear, speak, read, and write clearly.
