Position Summary

The Executive Director of Tennis Operations will lead the internal and external management, financial wellbeing, resource allocation, quality, expansion, and community influence of New York Junior Tennis League, Inc.'s flagship tennis facility. As a key player in the senior leadership team accountable for profit and loss, they will partner with the CEO to supervise an annual budget of $3 million acquired from various sources, including governmental agencies, private participants, corporations, special events, and community allies. This role is perfect for an innovative leader passionate about boosting tennis engagement in underserved areas.

Core Responsibilities

  • Business Operations
    • Supervise front desk operations, ensuring proper reception, client services, and revenue control.
    • Collaborate with the CFO on financial affairs and decisions, such as pricing, budget planning, expense control, vendor agreements.
    • Analyze financial and client data recorded in Club Automation, the Center's CRM system.
    • Ensure smooth site openings/closings, upkeep, NY City/State compliance, safety measures, procurement, vendor partnerships.
    • Manage all aspects of event hosting, preparation, meetings, inquiries, and contracts.
    • Direct equipment procurement and inventory monitoring at the pro shop.
    • Detect chances for growth and structural enhancements.
    • Supervise the care and maintenance of tennis courts, buildings, parking area, and equipment.
    • Recruit, train, and oversee administrative staff.
    • Devise marketing strategies to boost facility revenue, usage, and program involvement.
  • Commercial and Community Tennis Activities
    • Work with the Center's tennis leadership to monitor the quality and growth of all programs and court rentals. Explore new revenue-generating options.
    • Cultivate partnerships with public and private entities and youth participants.
    • Engage with local officials and community leaders to expand the Center's presence and impact.
    • Arrange and market tennis competitions, events, and clinics to enhance facility visibility.
    • Ensure that key metrics like participation rates and Scholar Athlete college attendance meet or surpass expectations.
    • Collaborate with New York Junior Tennis League, Inc.'s ACES and CTP staff regarding tennis components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years' progressive experience in sports programming, sales management, facilities operations, adult/youth programs, coaching.
  • Proven track record in revenue generation within a commercial environment.
  • Ability to leverage business skills in sports-focused youth organizations.
  • Proficient in online platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Capacity to create a collaborative work environment.

Job Type
