Position Overview:

The Boeing Company is seeking experienced Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineers at both Senior and Lead levels to join our Flight Systems Engineering Capability team. This role focuses on the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced flight systems for various aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish mission requirements for Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems, ensuring comprehensive traceability and quality assurance from system to component levels.
  • Utilize multidisciplinary model data (including aerodynamics, mass properties, and propulsion) to create and enhance complex, nonlinear simulation models.
  • Develop flight control algorithms using contemporary linear control design techniques to meet specified performance objectives.
  • Conduct advanced nonlinear analyses to refine control law designs.
  • Validate models against empirical test data to enhance simulation accuracy.
  • Create supplementary controllers, limiters, and mode logic to ensure performance boundaries within the flight envelope.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate control laws into operational flight programs.
  • Support flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and actual flight testing.
  • Lead design reviews, analyses, simulations, and testing to deliver products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers.

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite, requiring presence at the designated location.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 3 years focused on Guidance Navigation and Control engineering.
  • Proficiency in using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX for system modeling.

Preferred Experience:

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Experience in simulation, system modeling, and real-time algorithm implementation.
  • Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) and flight test support.
