Role Summary:

As a Complex Claims Adjuster, you will manage intricate claims that necessitate exceptional investigative skills and a thorough understanding of insurance policies. Your responsibilities will include evaluating coverage, assessing damages, and formulating strategic action plans. You will also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior adjusters, facilitating training sessions, and responding to significant weather-related incidents as required. This role demands a high level of technical knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to work extended hours when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Oversight: Confirm loss details, assess coverage, and manage the entire claims process, including the collection and review of all relevant information.
  • Inspections and Communication: Engage with insured parties to arrange property inspections and maintain clear communication throughout the claims process.
  • Investigation and Reporting: Establish the extent of investigations needed, review all relevant materials, and meticulously document all actions taken on claims.
  • Dispute Resolution: Utilize advanced negotiation techniques to resolve claims disputes, participate in mediations, and oversee the appraisal process.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to less experienced adjusters, contributing to their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in Property and Casualty Insurance, with a solid grasp of Florida's insurance regulations and claims processes.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable manner.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in computer applications, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Licensing: Must hold a Florida 520 License and be willing to obtain licenses in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia if not already possessed.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with relevant experience in an insurance carrier or agency.
