The **Procurement Specialist II** plays a crucial role in the acquisition of materials, components, supplies, and services for the organization, adhering to established procurement protocols, contractual obligations, and federal acquisition standards. **This position is remote within the United States and requires U.S. citizenship.**

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Identifies and establishes sources of supply, negotiates pricing, delivery timelines, and other essential commitments based on authorized requisitions while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal regulations.

+ Offers guidance and updates to requesters, including communication regarding procurement actions or statuses, and assists with specialized or complex requirements.

+ Follows procurement procedures to ensure proper follow-up and management of purchase orders and subcontract files, coordinating requisition needs with requesters.

+ Aids in the creation of procurement-related reports.

+ Engages with suppliers, obtains bids, and processes purchase orders in line with established procedures.

+ Reviews purchase requisitions and issues purchase orders to approved suppliers.

+ Negotiates pricing, delivery terms, and conditions with qualified suppliers.

+ Maintains procurement documentation in accordance with established protocols.

+ Contributes to the company's objectives as part of a team or work group as assigned.

+ Negotiates and resolves issues with suppliers regarding claims for damages, rejections, losses, returns, over-shipments, and cancellations.

+ Provides pricing support for business development or proposal initiatives as needed.

+ May involve site visits to support the establishment of new or existing supplier relationships.

+ Collaborates with procurement leadership to provide updates, input, and communication with other departments.

+ Ensures compliance with procurement procedures while maintaining an approved purchasing system.

+ Performs additional duties as assigned.

**Required Knowledge & Skills**

+ Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

+ Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers.

+ Capable of organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, working independently, and thriving under pressure.

+ **Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is preferred.**

+ Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.).

+ Additional knowledge or skills may be required based on contract or assignment specifics.

**Experience & Education**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Two (2) years of relevant experience may substitute for each year of the four (4) years of college education.

+ **Three (3) years of experience in a procurement or buyer role, ideally within a government context.**

+ Certifications in procurement are advantageous.

+ U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
