Department Overview
The Department of Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Georgia prioritizes exceptional patient care. Our team of dedicated professionals is focused on delivering accurate diagnoses and effective treatments while educating patients about their conditions. Our educational initiatives ensure that our residents are well-prepared for comprehensive ophthalmic practice or advanced fellowship training.
Position Summary
As a Clinical Research Specialist, your primary responsibilities will involve planning and executing research projects. This may encompass data management, conducting interviews, and disseminating research findings. You will be expected to interpret data effectively to guide decision-making processes within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement research studies.
- Analyze and interpret research data.
- Present findings through various formats including presentations and journal articles.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to procure laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Provide training and orientation for new team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or materials science, along with research experience in clinical or basic science; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of research or clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various databases is essential.
Skills
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and multitasking abilities are also necessary.
Abilities
Must be able to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.
Work Schedule and Benefits
This position typically operates during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
