Role Summary

The Product Category Strategist will play a crucial role in developing and executing category strategies aimed at driving sales and enhancing profit margins.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and implement category strategies to stimulate sales and margin enhancement.
  • Evaluate market dynamics, consumer trends, and competitor activities to pinpoint opportunities and challenges.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure alignment with category objectives.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle from launch to discontinuation, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Track and analyze category performance metrics, utilizing data-driven insights to enhance outcomes.
  • Devise promotional initiatives and pricing strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in category management, ideally within the home improvement or eCommerce sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple product categories and achieving sales objectives.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with retailer vendor portals and ERP systems is highly advantageous.
  • Able to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
