Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Note: This role requires partial onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Hispanic merchandising strategy for designated categories and services under the guidance of the Category Manager or Director.
  • Develop and implement category strategies aimed at maximizing sales and profitability for both everyday and seasonal programs, aligning with financial objectives and enhancing market share.
  • Conduct analysis of market trends and consumer behavior relevant to the assigned category.
  • Shape and execute strategies for front store operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to meet objectives.
  • Manage product assortment, including selection, pricing, promotional strategies, and inventory levels in partnership with various business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for product innovation and expansion within the category.
  • Collaborate with support teams, including pricing, finance, inventory planning, planogram design, store operations, and core counterparts to fulfill merchandising goals in line with the strategic plan.
  • Engage with vendor management, including collaboration, interviewing, strategy development, and negotiation.
  • Optimize supply chain efficiency and address distribution challenges.
  • Prepare category budget forecasts based on growth pillars and market trends.
  • Generate and provide necessary reporting.
  • Assess advertising and seasonal program effectiveness.
  • Secure seasonal and incremental opportunities as applicable.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in category management, assistant category management, planogram analysis, purchasing, or supply chain.
  • Experience with general merchandise categories such as stationery, small electronics, batteries, books, and magazines is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with SQL queries is a plus (programming skills not required).
  • Knowledge of Cercone is desirable.
  • Experience with IRI for market research and data analysis is a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to think creatively, work independently and collaboratively with multiple teams, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of multitasking while adapting quickly to responsibilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000, depending on experience.

The provided range is a reasonable estimate of compensation for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
