Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
Work Arrangement: This role requires partial onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the merchandising strategy focused on the Hispanic market for designated categories and services under the guidance of the Category Manager or Director.
- Formulate and implement category strategies aimed at enhancing sales and profitability for both everyday and seasonal offerings, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and market share growth.
- Conduct analysis of market trends and consumer behavior relevant to the assigned category.
- Develop and execute strategies for the front store, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to meet business goals.
- Oversee product assortment management, including selection, pricing, promotional strategies, and inventory levels in conjunction with other business stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for product innovation and expansion within the category.
- Work closely with support teams, including pricing, finance, inventory planning, planogram design, store operations, and core counterparts to achieve merchandising objectives aligned with the strategic plan.
- Engage with vendor management to foster collaboration, conduct interviews, develop strategies, and negotiate terms.
- Enhance supply chain efficiency and address distribution challenges.
- Prepare category budget forecasts based on growth pillars and market insights.
- Generate and provide necessary reporting.
- Evaluate advertisements and seasonal program effectiveness.
- Secure seasonal and incremental opportunities as applicable.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in category management, assistant category management, planogram analysis, purchasing, or supply chain.
- Experience with general merchandise categories such as stationery, small electronics, batteries, books, and magazines is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with SQL queries is a plus (programming skills not required).
- Knowledge of Cercone is desirable.
- Experience with IRI for market research and data analysis is beneficial.
- Self-motivated individual with innovative thinking, capable of working independently and collaboratively across multiple teams, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at multitasking, and able to quickly adapt to responsibilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience.
The provided range is a reasonable estimate of compensation for this role, with actual amounts varying based on experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
