Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of the company's equipment and facilities. This role involves leading the maintenance team, overseeing machinery upkeep, preventive and corrective maintenance, and the installation of new equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Communication:

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and janitorial staff.

• Provide guidance, support, and training to the maintenance team.

• Foster a collaborative team culture to ensure effective communication of maintenance issues.

• Coordinate with supervision and the planning department to schedule and manage maintenance and repair work.

• Consult with production planning to schedule overtime as needed to meet production demands.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Oversee and monitor the preventive maintenance program for all machinery and equipment, aiming for at least a 95% completion rate.

• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues proactively.

• Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities, minimizing downtime.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.

• Diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure quick return to operational status.

• Collaborate with external vendors for specialized repairs and technical support.

• Review and recommend quotations for outside contractors' services.

• Schedule and coordinate activities of external contractors.

• Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a range of production and auxiliary equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical controls.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections.

• Update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.

• Monitor inventory and reorder spare parts and maintenance supplies as necessary.

• Maintain the maintenance database for tracking work orders, spare parts, and equipment history.

• Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations to improve plant operations and resolve maintenance issues.

• Track, analyze, and improve maintenance department KPIs, such as production halts, PM completion rates, and maintenance costs.

Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

• Conduct regular safety training sessions for the maintenance team.

• Collaborate with the Health and Safety Officer to address safety concerns.

• Direct and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department; review safety records and uphold safety standards.

• Correct unsafe conditions immediately and address safety violations.

• Ensure safe use of hand tools, power tools, and test instruments.

• Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and lock storage policies.

• Respond to security and fire alarm notifications.

• Coordinate activities in response to inclement weather, power outages, etc., ensuring plant operations are maintained.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Participate in the operations L10 meeting.

• Achieve and maintain departmental goals related to the 7S system.

• Maintain the building and grounds.

• Assist with the rebuilding and modification of production equipment.

• Support robotics used in the manufacturing process.

Job Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or closely related environment.

3. Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

4. Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic control circuits.

5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, designs, schematics, and written instructions.

6. Experience troubleshooting industrial drives and controls.

7. Proficiency in troubleshooting a range of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

8. Ability to obtain equipment certification.

9. Effective team collaboration with individuals of diverse abilities and backgrounds.

10. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

12. Strong time management and team leadership skills.

13. Good organizational and administrative abilities.

14. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

15. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

16. Relevant certifications in maintenance or a related field are advantageous.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
