Position Overview

The role of Senior Electron Optics Engineer is pivotal in the design of electron optical concepts for state-of-the-art e-beam metrology and inspection systems. This position involves significant contributions to the development of innovative technologies and essential modules aligned with the company's electron beam technology and product strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Innovate and create new electron optical design concepts for advanced e-beam metrology and inspection systems.
  • Design and prototype electron sources and columns, ensuring mechanical and vacuum designs meet stringent performance criteria. Prepare comprehensive simulation and design documentation.
  • Develop creative solutions to address design challenges that hinder the electron optical performance of systems.
  • Contribute to system specifications, error budgets, and interface definitions.
  • Assemble and evaluate electron optics sub-modules, integrating them into the complete system.
  • Conduct basic performance evaluations on test benches and generate detailed test reports.
  • Responsibilities may evolve over time based on project needs.
Qualifications

A Ph.D. with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience is required.

  • Over 5 years of experience in electron optics.
  • Background in Physics, Applied Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in vacuum system design, material processing, and mechanical design.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience with mechanical design software (e.g., Solidworks, NX).
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Project management skills are advantageous.
Essential Skills
  • Expertise in vacuum simulation, design, prototyping, and testing.
  • Mechanical design proficiency for electron optics.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
Additional Information

This role may require up to 10% travel to collaborate with colleagues at different locations.

Access to controlled technology is a requirement for this position, as defined by the Export Administration Regulations. Candidates must be legally authorized to access such technology prior to commencing employment.
