About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Optic Installation Specialist to join our team at IES Communications. As a Fiber Optic Installation Specialist, you will play a critical role in installing, terminating, testing, and splicing fiber optic systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and Terminate Fiber Optic Systems: Install, terminate, test, and splice fiber optic systems to ensure high-quality services and solutions for our customers.
  • Build and Install Network Infrastructure: Build closets and install backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware to support our communication systems.
  • Perform Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems using OTDR and PMLS to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install and Terminate Connectors: Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors for both multi-mode and single-mode fiber.
  • Meet Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be self-motivated and positive in approach, professional, and able to work at heights, off of a ladder, and in confined spaces.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and be proficient at terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting Experience: Must have testing and troubleshooting experience with MMF and SMF systems.
  • IES Driving Standards Policy: Must be able to meet IES driving standards policy.
Career Path and Compensation
  • Lead Communications Technician: Opportunity to advance to Lead Communications Technician role with a minimum USD $25.00/Hr. and maximum USD $32.00/Hr. compensation.
