Job Title: Accounting Manager

Westminster College is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Business Office, you will be responsible for assisting the CFO, Controller, and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis with various financial matters, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance and analysis, reconciliation, cash flow and budget analysis, and audit preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile various bank accounts and prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close.
  • Maintain the fixed asset and depreciation schedules, and assist with budget preparation and budget analysis.
  • Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliation, as requested, and assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives.
  • Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis, and analyze and reconcile various balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of a multi-year budget model and any and all forecasting as part of the preparation, and provide technical support and accounting and financial information to the campus community through research and analysis of data.
  • Supervise accounts receivables staff and provide backup assistance as needed to other support staff positions in the Business Office and the AVP for Business and Controller.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance, with experience with grant accounting preferred.
  • CPA is preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), experience working with accounting information systems, a team player with good customer service skills, ability to work independently and within a group.
