Axelon Services Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Decision Support Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing critical insights and data-driven recommendations to key stakeholders and hospital leadership.

As a Decision Support Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing operational volumes, expense & service utilization, profitability, and the organization's competitive position within the healthcare market. Your expertise in financial analysis and reporting will be instrumental in supporting strategic decision-making across various departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of clinical, financial, and administrative data from diverse sources, transforming complex information into clear and concise reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial analysis methodologies for new ventures, physician contracts, and reimbursement strategies.
  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and implementation of special projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project objectives.
  • Effectively manage customer expectations by providing regular updates on project progress and deliverables.
  • Evaluate the cost-benefit implications of proposed scenarios, recommending solutions that optimize financial performance.
  • Assess the impact of decisions and adapt strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, fostering understanding and buy-in for recommended changes.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly reports by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Respond to financial inquiries promptly and accurately, gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting relevant data.
  • Track physician compensation performance against budget, identifying variances and providing insightful explanations.
  • Develop financial models that compare physician compensation with industry benchmarks, informing strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for healthcare data.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analytical techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of physician compensation models and industry benchmark data.
  • Exceptional technical writing and graphical presentation skills.
  • Experience working with relational databases and large datasets.
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting, revenue, profitability metrics, and the ability to communicate these concepts effectively to stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports and Access.
  • Knowledge of healthcare coding (UB-92, ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG, etc.) is a plus.
