Department Overview

The Sourcing department serves as the primary authority for acquiring materials and services at PG&E Corporation. This team collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers, managing over $10 billion in annual expenditures to create mutually advantageous cost solutions for goods and services. The department offers a range of services including procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, supplier relationship management, and compliance oversight.

Position Summary

In this role, you will enhance the client experience by formulating and executing effective Strategic Sourcing strategies and category management initiatives focused on Vegetation Management. Your responsibilities will include leading a team to ensure alignment with business objectives through category planning, governance, and contract execution processes, ultimately identifying opportunities that maximize value for the organization. As a leader within the Sourcing team, you will cultivate an environment that promotes open communication and champions diversity and inclusion.

This position allows for hybrid work, combining remote and on-site responsibilities based on business needs.

Compensation Range

PG&E provides a salary range that reflects the company's good faith estimate for this position. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including skills, education, experience, and geographic location.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area: $140,000 - $238,000

California: $133,000 - $226,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic portfolio and category plans to achieve cost savings and service excellence while optimizing diversity spending.
  • Supervise Category Leaders and support their professional development.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in executing strategic sourcing initiatives and oversee contract expenditures across various categories.
  • Formulate and implement sourcing policies that align with company-wide processes.
  • Conduct spend analysis, needs assessments, and business case development.
  • Direct the development and execution of negotiation strategies.
  • Effectively communicate business cases and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Oversee the Gated 7 Step Sourcing Process with leadership.
  • Participate in field visits and industry events to enhance category knowledge.
  • Support the implementation of key supply chain initiatives and monitor KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and contract quality.
  • Facilitate improvements in contract processing and client experience.
  • Approve contracts up to $10 million.
  • Manage relationships that yield beneficial outcomes for PG&E and its suppliers.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction through established service level agreements.
  • Assist clients with policy adherence and invoice resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in sourcing or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Knowledge of forestry and utility vegetation management practices.
  • Experience sourcing Vegetation Management Services.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with 2+ years of management experience.
  • Project management experience or PMP certification.
  • CPSM certification from the Institute for Supply Management.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage diverse stakeholder interests.
  • Proficient in SAP/Ariba and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
