As our organization expands globally through various initiatives, our IT department adapts to meet the growing technological demands. Implementing intricate solutions that improve efficiencies and support a cohesive digital framework is essential. This necessitates a well-structured portfolio of strategic IT projects.

The IT Project Manager (PM), reporting to the IT PMO Director, plays a vital role in delivering high-quality solutions. The PM oversees projects through all stages, from initial planning to post-launch support, collaborating with IT teams to set plans and timelines. This position emphasizes achieving compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). Key responsibilities include managing CMMC project phases, coordinating Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs), addressing gaps, and preparing for third-party certification. The PM will maintain project plans, monitor progress, and compile status updates for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience leading IT project teams
  • Proficiency with CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) regulations and compliance (1+ project)
  • Familiarity with IT Security compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, COBIT), Defense Industrial Base, DFARS/FAR Regulations, and government contracts – highly preferred
  • Experience in a matrixed operating model, managing multiple IT and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in structured, detail-oriented Project Management:
    • Strong ability to plan and document a project throughout its lifecycle
    • Experience with business justification, project budgeting, and tracking resource utilization
    • Proficient in program/project portfolio management standards, tools, and techniques
    • Vendor management skills (selection, negotiations, relationship building)
    • Effective listening skills to identify business needs and drive technical solutions
    • Leadership of diverse business and technical teams across multiple locations
    • Experience managing IT projects involving various applications and technology platforms
  • Possess strong professional and technical competencies including:
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
    • Quick learner on diverse technical platforms, forward-looking on emerging technologies
    • Ability to articulate complex technology in business terms
  • Willingness to travel domestically (0-10% based on project needs)
  • PMP, Agile, and/or Lean Six Sigma certification (a plus)
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector (a plus)
  • Due to the nature of the work performed in this role, this position is restricted to U.S. Citizens. This requirement is necessary to comply with federal government contracts and regulations, specifically including CMMC.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects to ensure deliverables, timelines, and resource constraints are met, adhering to PMO policies and standards.
  • Establish project scope, requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with IT Business Relationship Managers, technical and functional staff, and business partners to define key milestones, detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, and task lists, including resource assignments.
  • Engage and manage vendors as necessary.
  • Establish project budgets, track expenditures, and communicate current and projected resource utilization.
  • Coordinate IT applications, infrastructure, and operations resources per project demands.
  • Define and communicate roles for project team members and stakeholders.
  • Set up a clear communication cadence for team members and stakeholders, provide routine status reports, and escalate issues to the steering team as necessary.
  • Define user acceptance test criteria and plans, and coordinate testing events for successful solution signoff.
  • Review and communicate project status, manage risks and issues, monitor business change readiness, ensure delivery of training and documentation, coordinate cutover/launch activities, provide post-Go-Live support, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
  • Maintain and store project artifacts for transparency across team members and stakeholders.
  • Advise the business on developing project justifications and assist in preparing investment requests for timely management approval.
  • Manage IT resource capacity at various levels, providing routine and ad hoc budget-to-actual updates and projections.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, performance, deliverables, reporting, and change management during projects.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and audit standards for projects and deliverables.
