Key Responsibilities:

A typical day includes:

  • Identifying and pursuing new client opportunities within BioServices (biorepository) and logistics.
  • Managing client expectations by collaborating with colleagues from Client Services, Subject Matter Experts, and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Members to foster integrated relationships.
  • Tracking activities and reporting progress consistently using CRM systems. Regularly reviewing performance with sales leadership and proposing alternative strategies as needed.
  • Overseeing the process of acquiring new business, which may involve leading bid defense meetings, discussing quotes, and managing contracts. This role is accountable for achieving new business objectives.
  • Understanding the outsourcing strategies of assigned clients and formulating short, medium, and long-term plans to maximize opportunities for providing clinical trial supply services. This includes prioritizing accounts and identifying key decision-makers.
  • Achieving and surpassing sales targets for designated accounts and/or territories.
  • Adhering to company policies and relevant SOPs, while recommending improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Engaging in necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Performing other sales-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA or equivalent in business or a scientific discipline.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the life sciences sector, including pharmaceutical or biotech industries, with a focus on cell and gene therapy, clinical supply chain, cold storage, or transportation.
  • Experience in clinical project management and/or sales is highly advantageous, particularly in clinical protocol development or CRO sales.
  • Knowledge of clinical trials and supply chain management is preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales or account management.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong teamwork abilities, particularly in a matrix management structure. Capable of influencing across various functions and Thermo Fisher Scientific locations to achieve objectives.
  • Proficient in software tools for communication, including the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Excellent sales, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to understand client needs and propose suitable solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen analytical mindset, capable of identifying and addressing issues.
  • Focus on meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, capable of working independently while knowing when to seek support from colleagues and management.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 50% of the time may be required.
