Key Responsibilities:

A typical day may involve:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within BioServices (biorepository) and logistics.
  • Managing client expectations by collaborating with colleagues from Client Services, Subject Matter Experts, and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Members to foster integrated relationships.
  • Tracking activities and reporting progress consistently using CRM systems. Evaluating performance against targets with sales leadership and proposing alternative strategies when necessary.
  • Overseeing the process of acquiring new business, which may involve leading bid defense meetings, discussing quotes, and managing contracts. This role is accountable for achieving new business objectives.
  • Understanding the outsourcing strategies of assigned clients and formulating short, medium, and long-term plans to maximize opportunities for providing clinical trial supply services. This includes prioritizing accounts, identifying decision-makers, and utilizing sales tools effectively.
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets for designated accounts and/or territories.
  • Adhering to company policies and relevant SOPs, while making recommendations for enhancing policy and procedure efficiency when appropriate.
  • Engaging in necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Performing other sales-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA or equivalent in business or scientific disciplines.

Experience:

  • Significant prior experience in the life sciences sector, including pharmaceutical, biotech (particularly in cell and gene therapy), clinical supply chain, cold storage, or transportation.
  • Experience related to clinical projects and/or sales is a distinct advantage, ideally including clinical protocol development and/or CRO sales.
  • Knowledge of clinical trials and/or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Experience in sales or account management.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to work collaboratively, particularly in a matrix management environment, and influence across various functions within Thermo Fisher Scientific and partner organizations.
  • Proficiency with software tools for internal and external communication, including the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Strong sales, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to comprehend client needs and propose suitable solutions.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying and addressing issues.
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented, capable of working independently while knowing when to seek support from colleagues and management.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 50% of the time.
