Key Responsibilities:

A typical day may involve:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within BioServices, particularly in biorepository and logistics.
  • Managing client expectations by collaborating with colleagues from Client Services, Subject Matter Experts, and Executive Leadership Team members to foster integrated relationships.
  • Tracking activities and reporting progress consistently using CRM systems. Regularly review performance with sales leadership and suggest alternative strategies when necessary.
  • Overseeing the process of acquiring new business, which may include leading bid defense meetings, discussing quotes, and managing contracts. You will be accountable for achieving new business objectives.
  • Understanding the outsourcing strategies of assigned clients and developing short, medium, and long-term plans to maximize opportunities for providing clinical trial supply services. This includes prioritizing accounts and identifying key decision-makers.
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets for designated accounts and/or territories.
  • Adhering to company policies and standard operating procedures, while also recommending improvements for efficiency where applicable.
  • Engaging in necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Performing other sales-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA or equivalent in business or a scientific discipline.

Experience Required:

  • Significant prior experience in the life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology (cell and gene therapy), clinical supply chain, cold storage, or transportation.
  • Experience in clinical project management and/or sales is a distinct advantage, ideally including clinical protocol development and/or CRO sales.
  • Knowledge of clinical trials and supply chain management is preferred.
  • Experience in sales or account management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix management environment and influence across various functions and organizations.
  • Proficiency with software tools for internal and external communication, including the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Strong sales, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to understand client needs and articulate suitable solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, with a focus on identifying and addressing issues.
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented, capable of working independently while knowing when to seek support from colleagues and management.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 50% of the time.
