Job Title: Director of Operations

About the Role:
As a Director of Operations at Elior North America, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department. This includes managing financial acumen, sales reports, and profit margins, as well as developing and implementing strategies to drive growth and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage financial reporting, including sales reports and P&L reports
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and improve efficiency
  • Manage salaried managers and hourly associates in the Food Service Department
  • Ensure compliance with Company established policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Maintain food cost while ensuring quality standards
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with staff, client, and guests
  • Analyze and create trends for financial data
  • Manage purchasing and inventory controls
  • Plan menus in consultation with chefs
  • Be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food

Requirements:
  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related experience preferred
  • Five to eight years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills
  • Strong, polished communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer, and associate levels
  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills
  • Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and the Internet
  • ServSafe Certified
