About the Role

Abbott Laboratories, a global healthcare leader, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you will play a critical role in facilitating efficient operations, optimizing existing processes, and ensuring production goals are met.

Main Responsibilities
  • Initiate and complete technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes, aligning with our company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Prepare reports, publish findings, and make presentations to communicate technical information to various stakeholders.
  • Analyze and solve complex problems using engineering principles, theories, and concepts, often requiring innovative approaches or breakthroughs in technology.
  • Develop and apply knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority, applying this expertise in leadership roles within the company.
  • Incorporate business policies and procedures into task completion, understanding the business needs of the company and customer needs of our business.
  • Cultivate internal and external networks to complete tasks, serving as a resource in the selection, orientation, and training of new engineers and employees.
  • May lead project teams, determining goals and objectives, and mentor employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
  • Interact cross-functionally and with internal and external customers, serving as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters.
  • Act as a spokesperson to customers on business unit current and future capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional areas, including a wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of business unit function and cross-group dependencies/relationships.
  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment, with a sound knowledge of various technical alternatives and their impact.
