We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Panthalassa, a pioneering company in the field of ocean-based renewable energy. As a key member of our node design and manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in transitioning our designs into high-volume manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and equipment to support high-volume production of our node technology
  • Collaborate with the node design team to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards
  • Characterize and optimize manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Develop and manage relationships with fabrication partners and suppliers
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Drive the development of pilot manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Establish strategies for future high-volume manufacturing systems and processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing/design engineer working on mechanical and/or electromechanical systems
  • Strong foundation in mechanical design fundamentals, solid mechanics, material selection, prototyping, testing methods, and fabrication processes
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling, drafting, and PLM
  • Able to independently identify, own, and drive complex engineering workstreams
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing high-volume equipment in automotive, roll-to-roll, oil & gas, wind turbine monopile, process industries, or equivalent
  • Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, fluid systems, heavy steel manufacturing, welding, or metal forming
