As a Mechanical Engineer - Node Design and Manufacturing, you will play a critical role in the development of our next-generation node fleets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our node design team to develop and implement manufacturing strategies for high-volume production.
  • Work closely with local fabrication partners to understand existing processes, equipment, and techniques, and use this knowledge to inform our manufacturing strategy.
  • Characterize processes to inform specification development, design best practices, cost structures, and future manufacturing site requirements.
  • Support the development of bespoke manufacturing processes and equipment as needed, including opportunities for detailed machine design.
  • Contribute to the design and development of the node pilot line.
  • Contribute to building out the strategy for future high-volume manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback to the node design team.
  • Contribute to node design as it pertains to successful high-volume manufacturing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing/design engineer working on mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, solid mechanics, material selection, prototyping, testing methods, and fabrication processes.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred), drafting (GD&T fundamentals), and PLM (Team Center).
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Collaborative, team-player with ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop corrective measures to resolve.
  • Tendency to remain engaged, initiative-taking, and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preferred experience developing high-volume equipment in automotive, roll-to-roll, oil & gas, wind turbine monopile, process industries, or equivalent.
  • Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, fluid systems, heavy steel manufacturing, welding, or metal forming (press brake and plate rolls).
