About the Role

At Abbott Laboratories, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
  • Evaluate production equipment to ensure it meets our high standards.
  • Provide production support and process validation to ensure seamless operations.
  • Interface with vendors to source high-quality components.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools to improve processes and reduce variability.
  • Apply manufacturing concepts such as value stream mapping, 5S, and visual workplace to enhance quality, labor efficiency, and throughput.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Biomedical, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on process improvement and equipment evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing concepts, including value stream mapping, 5S, and visual workplace.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time, including internationally.
