As a key player in this role, you will act as the technical authority for project design execution and serve as the primary liaison for clients.

You will oversee a team of professionals responsible for all aspects of project design, ensuring quality, timely delivery of contracted work, and adherence to project objectives, requirements, schedules, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the technical expert in various areas of mechanical engineering.
• Supervise and mentor assigned engineers, providing guidance and support for junior team members.
• Conduct necessary calculations, modeling, and engineering research.
• Perform peer reviews and maintain quality control over the design team's outputs.
• Provide hands-on project management by regularly reviewing project plans and timelines to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets, making necessary adjustments to resources as required.
• Organize and lead internal and external client meetings, ensuring all action items are tracked and completed.
• Coordinate project activities with all stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with the VP of the group to respond to client RFPs and assist in developing proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and budgets using established methods and standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster retention and referrals.
• Ensure accurate project accounting, including timely project setup, invoicing, and compliance with accounting protocols.
• Participate in industry conferences and contribute to business development and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 15 years of professional experience with a demonstrated progression in engineering and project management, particularly in power or related fields.
• Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) or equivalent tools.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in engineering power infrastructure projects, including central utility plants, combined heat and power systems, and distributed generation.
• Knowledge of specifying and integrating mechanical systems such as combustion turbines, internal combustion engines, heat recovery systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvement techniques.
• Strong understanding of local, state, and national code requirements.
• Proficient in project management and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations.
