Role Overview
The Mechanical Project Engineer will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will be tasked with managing various projects. This role involves the integration of business, operational, and engineering functions to achieve strategic project objectives and ensure quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Project Management activities for assigned Capital and Major Expense projects.
  • Engage with mill operations to prioritize projects, ensuring minimal disruption to daily production.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to provide practical solutions, completing necessary calculations, designs, and documentation as required.
  • Facilitate communication among project team members and operational staff to prevent conflicts and delays.
  • Monitor project activity and cost status, analyzing performance against schedules and budgets, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance of engineering outputs with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain professional development and stay updated on industry advancements through collaboration with peers and industry professionals.

Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in a heavy industrial environment. Key qualifications include:

  • Experience in managing Capital and Major Expense projects related to Paper Machines and Converting Equipment.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as SAP, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
