Position Overview:

In the role of Commissary Manager, you will oversee all facets of our bakery production operations. This position requires a hands-on leadership approach, where you will manage the daily functions of the commissary, encompassing production scheduling and quality assurance, ensuring that every item aligns with our stringent standards. You will lead a team of proficient bakers and production personnel, enhancing efficiency, managing inventory, and upholding the health and safety protocols that characterize Steingold's Bakehouse.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Production Management: Supervise and coordinate the daily output of bagels, breads, and pastries, ensuring uniformity and excellence.
  • Team Leadership: Guide, train, and support the commissary workforce, cultivating a positive and effective work atmosphere.
  • Quality Assurance: Evaluate product quality and uniformity, instituting enhancements as necessary.
  • Inventory Oversight: Manage stock levels, oversee ordering processes, and reduce waste through effective inventory control.
  • Scheduling: Create and maintain production timelines to meet demand and streamline operations.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a hygienic and secure work environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and repair of bakery machinery, ensuring optimal operational performance.
  • Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on production metrics, providing insights to senior management for ongoing enhancement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a bakery or food production management capacity.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Organizational Abilities: Strong aptitude for managing multiple responsibilities, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
