Job Responsibilities:

Thermal Performance Engineer:


The Thermal Performance Engineer is tasked with ensuring that vehicle functional goals are met and will provide recommendations to the Product team.

The selected individual will conduct assessments of functional systems (both simulation and testing), evaluate cooling systems in collaboration with program leaders, plan development tests with laboratory engineers, and execute annual hot trip assessments for designated programs.

This role will also involve leading communication and reporting of issues, which includes providing status updates and facilitating issue resolution.

The Thermal Performance Engineer will take charge of proactive planning and monitoring of vehicle validation, actively supporting aero/thermal characteristics, and managing DVP&R testing and reporting.

The engineer may occasionally collaborate with members of the exterior styling studio.

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • 3+ years of pertinent engineering experience
  • Chauffeur's License or willingness and ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in thermal development, HVAC, or cooling systems
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems
  • Experience with drive cell / wind tunnel testing
  • Experience in working with and directing bargaining unit mechanics
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated capability to lead teams
  • Class A Commercial Driver License
