Position Overview:

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Service Coordinator to enhance our patient experience at our medical clinics. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Welcome patients in a courteous and professional manner, both in person and via phone.
  2. Conduct pre-visit preparations, including verifying insurance details and updating patient records.
  3. Register new patients and confirm the accuracy of information for returning patients.
  4. Collect co-payments and process payments as necessary.
  5. Handle incoming calls to schedule appointments and serve as a liaison for patient inquiries with clinical staff.
  6. Perform administrative tasks to facilitate a seamless patient visit and ensure efficient billing processes.
  7. Make outbound calls to patients for appointment scheduling.
  8. Strive to meet or exceed established service standards.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  10. Exhibit punctuality and regular attendance as a fundamental aspect of the role.
  11. Follow directives from management and collaborate effectively with team members.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some college education with a focus on medical, business, or accounting.
  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or business office setting.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Athenahealth.
Work Environment:
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands for various tasks, and communicate effectively.
  • Occasional need to walk, sit, or perform physical activities.
  • May lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision capabilities.
