Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Management

Strategic Planning (15%)

  • Formulate annual and quarterly strategies in collaboration with departmental teams to anticipate volunteer service needs.
  • Create outreach and communication strategies to identify potential volunteers and set recruitment targets.
  • Research and implement best practices to establish a benchmark for volunteer engagement in the region.
  • Collaborate with leadership to introduce new volunteer initiatives annually.

Outreach and Recruitment (25%)

  • Build and maintain strong community relationships to enhance the agency's reputation as the preferred volunteer organization.
  • Engage with corporate partners and community organizations to create team-building volunteer opportunities.
  • Facilitate training for volunteers to effectively support events.
  • Develop outreach materials for orientations and training sessions.
  • Represent the organization at public forums and community events.
  • Work with leadership to recruit ambassadors for health fairs and community presentations.
  • Establish processes for recruiting and retaining volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Enhance online engagement for group volunteer activities.
  • Collaborate with development teams to create initiatives that connect volunteers with donor opportunities.
  • Coordinate educational seminars on HIV/AIDS awareness for community organizations.

Volunteer Demand Fulfillment (15%)

Increase volunteer participation, hours contributed, and donations received.

Ensure successful execution of agency events and fundraising activities.

Develop a volunteer leader program to address organizational needs.

Create a skilled volunteer group to support the organization's growth.

Reporting and Metrics (15%)

  • Track and report on recruitment and fulfillment goals on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Implement a metrics program to assess volunteer engagement and contributions.
  • Manage documentation and data collection processes efficiently.
  • Utilize technology tools to enhance volunteer service management.

Volunteer Experience Management (15%)

  • Oversee the coordination of meaningful volunteer experiences within the organization.
  • Ensure accessibility and productivity of volunteer experiences.
  • Develop a recognition program to acknowledge volunteers and organizations.
  • Organize volunteer appreciation events within budgetary constraints.

Leadership and Development (15%)

  • Communicate the organization's mission clearly to align team efforts.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for team members to ensure clarity.
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages open communication and trust.
  • Provide comprehensive training for volunteers to ensure their success.
  • Monitor volunteer workload to ensure equitable task distribution.
  • Offer professional development opportunities for volunteers.
  • Emphasize teamwork and service to enhance volunteer engagement.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as marketing, management, or communications is preferred, along with three years of experience in volunteer program management.
  • Connections to the local community and participation in professional organizations are advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills in various formats are essential.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with data management software is necessary.
