Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Management:

Strategic Planning (15%):

  • Formulate annual and quarterly strategies in collaboration with various departments to anticipate volunteer service needs.
  • Create outreach and communication strategies to identify and achieve recruitment objectives.
  • Establish benchmarks and develop best practices to position the organization as a leader in volunteer engagement.
  • Collaborate with leadership to introduce new initiatives annually.

Outreach and Recruitment (25%):

  • Build strong community relationships to enhance the agency's image and become the preferred choice for volunteers.
  • Engage with corporate partners and community organizations to create team-building volunteer opportunities.
  • Design and implement training programs for volunteers participating in events.
  • Develop materials for orientations, tours, and training sessions.
  • Represent the organization at public forums, community events, and presentations.
  • Work with leadership to recruit ambassadors for health fairs and community events.
  • Establish processes to effectively recruit and retain volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Oversee the online presence for group volunteer activities.
  • Collaborate with Development to create initiatives that connect volunteers and donors.
  • Coordinate AIDS awareness seminars for corporate partners.

Meeting Volunteer Demand (15%):

Enhance the number of volunteers, hours contributed, and donations received.

Ensure timely management of agency events and fundraising activities involving volunteers.

Develop a volunteer leader program to address organizational needs.

Create a skilled volunteer group to support the organization’s growth.

Reporting and Evaluation (15%):

  • Provide quarterly and annual reports on recruitment and fulfillment goals.
  • Develop metrics to assess recruitment success, volunteer engagement, and contributions.
  • Manage documentation, scheduling, and data collection efficiently.
  • Utilize technology tools to enhance the Volunteer Services function.

Volunteer Experience Management (15%):

  • Coordinate meaningful volunteer experiences at various events.
  • Ensure accessibility and productivity of volunteer experiences.
  • Establish a recognition program to honor significant contributions.
  • Organize volunteer appreciation events within budgetary constraints.

Leadership and Development (15%):

  • Communicate the organization's mission clearly to align team efforts.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for staff and volunteers.
  • Create an environment that fosters open communication and trust.
  • Ensure volunteers receive adequate training for their roles.
  • Monitor volunteer workload to ensure equitable task distribution.
  • Provide opportunities for professional and personal growth.
  • Emphasize teamwork and service to enhance volunteer understanding of their impact.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as marketing, management, or public relations is preferred, along with three years of experience in volunteer program management.
  • Connections to the local community and participation in professional organizations are advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills across various media are essential.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are necessary for addressing challenges.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required; experience with CRM systems is a plus.
