Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Management:

Strategic Planning (15%)

  • Formulate annual and quarterly strategies in collaboration with various departments to anticipate volunteer service needs.
  • Create outreach and communication plans to identify potential volunteers and set recruitment objectives.
  • Research and implement best practices to establish AHF as a leading volunteer organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to initiate new engagement programs annually.

Outreach and Recruitment (25%)

  • Build strong community relationships to enhance the agency's reputation as the preferred volunteer organization.
  • Partner with corporate entities, faith-based organizations, and civic groups to create team-building volunteer opportunities.
  • Conduct training sessions for volunteers to facilitate activities at events.
  • Develop outreach materials for orientations and training sessions.
  • Represent the organization at public meetings and community events.
  • Work with leadership to recruit ambassadors for health fairs and community presentations.
  • Establish processes to recruit and retain volunteers from various sectors for advisory roles and events.
  • Oversee the online presence for group volunteer activities.
  • Collaborate with Development to create initiatives that connect volunteers and donors.
  • Coordinate awareness seminars on HIV/AIDS for community organizations.

Volunteer Fulfillment (15%)

Enhance the number of volunteers, their hours of service, and contributions.

Ensure timely management of agency events and fundraising activities involving volunteers.

Develop a volunteer leader program to address organizational needs.

Create a skilled volunteer group to meet the demands of a growing organization.

Reporting and Evaluation (15%)

  • Provide quarterly and annual reports on recruitment and fulfillment goals.
  • Develop metrics to assess recruitment success, volunteer engagement, and overall impact.
  • Manage documentation and data collection processes efficiently.
  • Utilize technology tools to enhance Volunteer Services operations.

Volunteer Experience Management (15%)

  • Coordinate meaningful volunteer experiences at AHF facilities and events.
  • Ensure accessibility and productivity of volunteer experiences.
  • Establish a recognition program to honor key volunteers and organizations.
  • Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events within budgetary constraints.

Leadership and Development (15%)

  • Communicate the organization's mission clearly to align team efforts.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for staff and volunteers.
  • Create an environment that fosters open communication and trust.
  • Ensure volunteers receive necessary training for success.
  • Monitor volunteer workload and task distribution.
  • Provide growth opportunities for volunteers.
  • Emphasize teamwork and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as marketing, education, management, or public relations is preferred, along with three years of experience in volunteer program management within a non-profit setting.
  • Connections to the local community and involvement in professional organizations are advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills in various formats are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in MS Office are required.
  • Familiarity with volunteer management software is beneficial.
