Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, design, and implement new technologies and solutions to meet corporate objectives while providing escalation support to junior engineers.
  • Exhibit creativity and initiative in resolving complex challenges associated with assigned projects.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of supported platforms and environments.
  • Dedicate significant time to intricate engineering, architectural, and implementation tasks.
  • Manage large-scale, complex project assignments effectively.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to end users and business stakeholders within CommonSpirit Health.
  • Conduct daily operational support activities.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations as part of the team.
  • Lead initiatives for enhancing, upgrading, or implementing new or existing technology solutions.
  • Coordinate efforts between IT Operations and other IT teams within CommonSpirit Health.
  • Oversee and facilitate the change management process as it pertains to the IT Operations team.
  • Review and recommend practices for source code and version management in line with technical guidelines.

Position Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in an IT technical or infrastructure role is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:

Data Center Expertise
  • Over 6 years of hands-on experience in monitoring and managing data center power and cooling systems.
  • 4+ years of experience in constructing and deploying data center racks and enclosures.
  • 4+ years of experience with building management and monitoring systems.
  • 4+ years of experience in managing data center systems and reporting on capacity.
  • 4+ years of experience in planning and installing copper and fiber optic cabling within data centers.
  • Strong documentation and procedural writing skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritize work and resolve issues effectively.
  • A customer-focused approach to service delivery with excellent communication skills.
  • Proven conflict resolution abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a focus on teamwork.
  • Familiarity with MS Access database is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the operations and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in a data center context.
  • Understanding of high voltage systems including UPS and transformers.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRAC systems and both chilled and air-cooled systems.
  • Familiarity with local building and fire codes to ensure compliance.

Travel Requirements

Moderate travel may be necessary as part of normal business operations, with potential for increased travel during specific events.
