Position Summary:
KBTX is in search of an IT Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bryan, TX. This role is integral to our operations, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and skill development. The IT Engineer will oversee various aspects of end-user support, including the setup and maintenance of Windows desktops and laptops, server management, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive desktop support for both local and remote personnel.
- Construct and maintain Windows-based desktops and laptops.
- Configure and assist with various broadcast and workflow-specific applications across departments.
- Manage Windows servers, including file shares, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
- Develop and oversee Virtual Infrastructure, such as VMWare hypervisors.
- Administer local Active Directory user accounts and access to resources.
- Establish workstations, including docking stations, monitors, and printers.
- Install and support Microsoft Office and other essential applications.
- Collaborate with Corporate IT to assist local employees with company applications.
- Maintain and manage the station's IP data network.
- Work with Corporate IT to install and troubleshoot core network equipment, including routers and firewalls.
- Support broadcast engineers and newsroom staff with automation systems.
- Manage the station's phone system and voicemail, including employee modifications.
- Process support tickets through the company helpdesk system.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned related to the position.
- Familiarity with RF Transmission Systems and Microwave Systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of ASI and SDI Encoding and Decoding Systems is a plus.

Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electronics or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years' experience in maintaining technical equipment in a broadcast or post-production environment is preferred.
- A positive work attitude and strong work ethic are essential.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing work plans while managing multiple projects.
- Effective communication skills across various disciplines and personalities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to explain technical processes clearly.
- Solid IT knowledge of computer networking, hardware/software maintenance, and virtual computing platforms is required.
- Understanding of production workflows in television, with familiarity in multiple NRCS, NLE, and automation platforms.
- Eagerness to learn and assess new technologies and workflows.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in support of a 24/7 broadcast operation.
- Ability to travel to remote broadcast locations as necessary.
- Must be capable of lifting and installing rack-mounted equipment weighing 25-50 pounds with assistance.
