Key Responsibilities:


The Jewish Community Center Association is in search of an innovative leader with exceptional fundraising abilities, strategic vision, and community engagement expertise to fulfill the role of Chief Executive Officer.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a successful track record as a transformative leader capable of fostering collaboration within the community, engaging with donors, agency heads, clergy, Board members, lay leaders, staff, and volunteers.

This individual must possess the skills to mediate, collaborate, and build consensus effectively.


As a considerate leader motivated by community needs, the perfect candidate will excel in uniting stakeholders, incorporating diverse viewpoints, aligning mission and strategy towards shared objectives, and translating these into actionable plans through effective execution.


Reporting directly to the Board President, the CEO will be instrumental in articulating a compelling vision for the Jewish community that inspires and mobilizes public interest.

Crucial for future success, and in partnership with the Board, the CEO will lead efforts to identify, cultivate, and steward new donors while establishing a pathway for emerging leadership.

The CEO will act as a representative voice for the Jewish community to the wider public.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of a vibrant, multifaceted organization, including the campus.
Collaborate with the Board, partner organizations, and congregations to nurture strong relationships, pursue common goals, and maximize outcomes. Guide leadership in crafting a clear vision for the Federation that captivates and energizes the community. Build and maintain robust relationships with constituent agencies and Jewish institutional stakeholders.

Inspire and motivate staff to enhance the operations of the Federation, Museum, and the Community Center in partnership with Deputy Directors; recruit, supervise, and evaluate staff capable of fulfilling the organization’s mission.

Ensure that the Federation's mission, funding goals, policies, and programs are effectively communicated to both the Jewish and broader communities.

Cultivate, recruit, develop, and sustain productive relationships with top volunteer leadership and prospects.

In collaboration with the Deputy Director of Finance and volunteer leadership, assume fiscal responsibility for the Federation, including ongoing oversight of the Federation's budget and other financial resources.

Lead and manage the development of strategies to foster relationships with major supporters of the Federation, Family Foundations, and engage the next generation of donors.

In partnership with the Board, develop integrated community planning initiatives that support the Federation's mission, particularly through the creation of short- and long-term strategies to sustain a vibrant community.

This may involve a comprehensive strategic plan.
Engage in community relations through organizational and professional networks.
Develop and maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with congregational clergy and leadership.

The CEO will serve as the Federation's liaison with supporting organizations, including the Jewish Community Center Association Foundation.

Be an active member of the community by participating in programs, events, and activities both within and outside the Jewish community.


Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to translate vision into actionable objectives, strategies, and deliverables.
A proven history of leadership, including staff management, volunteer coordination, and financial oversight of a complex organization.
Capacity to inspire, lead, develop, and empower staff and a dedicated Board and lay leadership is essential. Integrity, strategic thinking, and sound judgment are critical for success in this role.

Ability to cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with donors and prospects, positioning the Federation as a key venue for fulfilling their philanthropic goals.

A demonstrated record of successful fundraising, including planning, donor prospecting, solicitation, and recognition.

A strong commitment to Judaism, the Jewish community, and the welfare of the State of Israel, along with an understanding of Jewish life issues locally, nationally, and internationally.

Ability to connect with and understand individuals from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic/racial, and cultural backgrounds, building rapport with those holding varying viewpoints.

An entrepreneurial mindset that seeks to cultivate and maintain strong, authentic relationships with donors and stakeholders.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to engage in difficult yet essential conversations, are vital for success in this position.

A Bachelor's Degree is required (Master's preferred).
A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a Jewish communal or similar environment.
