This position reports directly to the Provost and works closely with the Chief Information Officer and Vice President for Strategy and Innovation. The role involves collaboration with deans, faculty, and the student success team to identify their needs and deliver effective solutions that foster an enriching academic environment for a diverse student body.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive strategy for academic and learning technologies that aligns with the university's mission and objectives.
  • Oversee the selection, acquisition, development, integration, and maintenance of software and applications that support educational activities and research.
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of academic technology systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to faculty, staff, and students to enhance their use of technology.
  • Collaborate with the Henneke Center to facilitate workshops focused on technology integration and pedagogical best practices.
  • Assist faculty in the effective incorporation of learning technologies to improve student outcomes.
  • Establish and uphold standards, policies, and best practices for the development of academic technology.
  • Assess and monitor the effectiveness of academic technology solutions and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and evaluate their potential benefits for the university.
  • Manage the budget and resources allocated for academic technology initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in educational technology, instructional design, or a related discipline.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in the development of academic and learning technology.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.
  • Self-driven with a collaborative mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in educational technology or a related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typing/Keyboarding: Proficient in typing and using a computer keyboard.
  • Speaking: Capable of effective verbal and written communication.
  • Reaching: Ability to reach for items on shelves.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skilled in using hands and fingers for office tasks.
