Position: Territory Sales Executive, SLED | Commercial Acquisition
Location: Remote
Reporting To: Vice President of Sales for SLED/Commercial
Role Summary: The Territory Sales Executive is tasked with the responsibility of securing new clientele through both proactive outreach and incoming inquiries, while effectively utilizing your professional network within the designated territory. This position involves engaging potential clients, delivering compelling sales presentations, identifying and nurturing sales prospects, and establishing strong relationships with customers and potential clients. Collaboration with the Sterling account team and strategic technology partners is essential.
Essential Technical Skills: The ideal candidate should be adept in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Proficiency in Salesforce or a comparable CRM system is mandatory.
Qualifications: A minimum of five (5) years of overall sales experience, with at least three (3) years in roles related to the commercial, state, local, and education sectors is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, extensive sales experience and a proven ability to identify funding opportunities, cultivate customer relationships, and surpass sales targets may be considered in lieu of a degree.

- Support marketing, sales, and business development efforts to cultivate and maintain client accounts.
- Skilled in drafting proposals and quotations as necessary.
- Competent in conducting account analyses, sales forecasts, and strategic planning for key accounts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Efficiently document customer interactions and sales activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets and activity metrics.
- Engage with customers regularly, presenting at various organizational levels to foster C-Level relationships.
- Identify and cultivate new leads, summarizing opportunities for internal assessment.
- Analyze and articulate new business opportunities, including deal size and key decision-makers.
- Document key customer requirements from meetings and coordinate responses with inside account managers, ensuring all opportunities are recorded in Salesforce.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients from initial contact through to product delivery.
- Develop partnerships with strategic technology providers and manufacturer representatives, addressing customer needs and opportunities.
- Participate in training sessions provided by strategic partners to enhance understanding of technology solutions.
- Identify and attend relevant conferences and trade shows within the territory, collaborating with the marketing team to develop appropriate messaging.
