Position Summary

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for promoting the use of conference and convention facilities across the greater Charlotte area, thereby strengthening partnerships with hotels and venues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Primary Duties
  • Drive business development within the meetings and events sector for the city of Charlotte.
  • Manage a comprehensive sales pipeline with a primary booking lead time of 18 months or less.
  • Collaborate with National Sales counterparts on local sales initiatives.
  • Conduct account research using platforms such as MINT, LinkedIn, SimpleView, and other industry resources.
  • Engage with relevant business event industry associations and membership organizations.
  • Maintain sales accounts within Visit Charlotte's CRM (SimpleView).
  • Solicit organizations and process inquiries to achieve established measurable objectives.
  • Organize and execute sales-related activities, including site visits, tradeshows, and sales outings.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals and impactful sales presentations.
  • Present to meeting planners in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet team and sub-team objectives while supporting customer needs.
  • Work across all CRVA branches to deliver outstanding customer service and enhance brand recognition.
  • Establish and nurture strong partnerships with CRVA affiliates.
  • Handle confidential data, including company records and customer quotes.
  • Assist in budget analysis, preparation, and review.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school, along with two to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

Scope of Responsibility

  • This position involves periodic access to confidential data, including financial statements and organizational records.

Supervisory Role

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and communicate verbally. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • A valid driver's license is required for transporting clients during onsite inspections or events.
