About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Executive to join our team at NRG Energy. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our commercial and industrial customers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and grow revenue in the commercial and industrial market segments.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at large commercial and industrial accounts.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and market trends to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales operations, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies.
  • Provide regular sales updates and forecasts to leadership, including pipeline information and sales performance metrics.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments, market trends, and competitor activity to ensure a competitive edge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct sales and marketing consultative selling, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Established network of large commercial or industrial accounts in the electric utility or natural gas industry.
  • Strong commercial skills, including the ability to analyze data and make insights for customers.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of the changing power/gas market landscape and the impact of renewables and other key market fundamentals.
  • Ability to analyze data and make insights for customers that challenge the way they think about energy procurement.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales automation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex sales challenges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment, with a strong focus on meeting sales targets and driving revenue growth.
