Construction Crew Supervisor

Location: Tempe, AZ | Phoenix Office

Position Overview

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountable for the organization, management, and provision of materials utilized by various trades.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

- Analyze blueprints and schematic diagrams to determine work methodologies.

- Oversee and coordinate the activities of laborers and their designated tasks.

- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.

- Communicate company policies to team members and enforce safety protocols.

- Organize and modify work sequences to align with construction timelines, utilizing knowledge of equipment capabilities and personnel assignments.

- Assess schedules and estimate labor-hour requirements for project completion.

- Identify and resolve work-related challenges.

- Maintain accurate time records.

- May prepare cost estimates for contracts.

- Employ logical, step-by-step approaches in tasks.

- Plan work and troubleshoot issues.

- Make informed decisions based on measurable data.

- May operate machinery.

Provide guidance to laborers at various levels, including Laborer I, II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers.

Work in accordance with established, detailed instructions and procedures.

Determine work methods from various alternatives.

Function under broad assignments.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Proficient in using tools and equipment, including both powered and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers.

- Capable of working effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including industry representatives, corporate entities, government officials, and community organizations.

- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

- Experience operating machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.

- Adaptable communication style with strong active listening skills.

- Strong orientation towards teamwork.

- Positive demeanor and professional customer service skills.

- Attention to detail.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- A two-year apprenticeship may be necessary.

- Prior experience in construction is preferred.
