Job Overview

We are a leading environmental contractor looking for a Construction Project Assistant Manager to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will support the senior project manager in various aspects of project bidding, planning, scheduling, and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow directions and demonstrate initiative when necessary.
  • Assist in tracking project expenses and ensuring budget compliance.
  • Help prepare change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and resolve quality issues, while supporting the implementation of quality control measures.
  • Participate in jobsite meetings alongside the project manager.
  • Engage in project meetings to assist in resolving any emerging issues.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the role.
  • Maintain communication with clients regarding specific projects.
  • Interact professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and others in both individual and team settings.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify that work is progressing as planned and meets specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to fulfill project requirements.
  • Exhibit dependability with exceptional attendance and punctuality.
  • Pay attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures throughout job processes.
  • Promote site safety at all times.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Manage field paperwork efficiently.
  • Assist in estimating project productivity.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for emergency responses and on-call duties.
  • Adapt to changing priorities as needed.
  • Generate client invoices based on services provided, in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Support the preparation of take-offs, change orders, and expenditure reports.
  • Assist with project scheduling.
  • Lead work crews effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, specifications, and logs.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Monitor project progress and provide status updates to the project manager.
  • Perform work safely and efficiently, following both oral and written instructions.
  • Order materials for projects as required.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports, meeting minutes, and other related documents.
  • Prepare Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Assist with project closeout activities.
  • Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Receive and track weekly field reports, including safety/toolbox reports and production reports.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Represent Environmental Response Inc. in a professional manner at all times.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, while managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Support the project manager in achieving project objectives, meeting deadlines, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver exceptional quality and customer service, aligning with the company's goals and profitability.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in meeting onsite response times and contractual deadlines.
  • Assist in setting up new projects.
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills.
  • Support the project manager in identifying potential cost overruns.
  • Assist in selecting subcontractors and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Support the project manager in planning, directing, and coordinating projects from preconstruction through to closeout.
  • Show willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities as required.
  • Work during standard operating hours to complete tasks within established deadlines.
  • Work productively to meet timelines.
  • Prepare project reports as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction management or related fields.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-focused.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Estimating experience is advantageous.
