Position Overview

Toni Group LLC, a well-respected and financially sound regional CPA firm, is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to enhance our expanding team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical tax reviews and approve all tax returns and governmental tax audits of varying complexity.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within your discipline or industry.
  • Take full ownership of larger tax returns while delegating tasks to tax preparers as necessary.
  • Manage client service responsibilities for clients directly handled by the Tax Manager or those delegated from the Partner.
  • Oversee and manage governmental tax audits; may represent clients before relevant tax authorities.
  • Foster the development of a skilled, responsible team by participating in recruitment, performance evaluations, and training initiatives.
  • Ensure the smooth progression of tax returns through the preparation system to guarantee accurate, complete, and timely delivery of all clients' tax returns.
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing and collection processes.
  • Prepare additional reports and projects as requested by partners.
  • Research and assess tax preparation and research software for recommendations to partners.
  • Engage in firm practice development activities through networking with referral sources and participating in community and industry events.
Qualifications
  • Proven knowledge of current tax regulations.
  • Expertise in utilizing computer-based tax preparation, research, and planning software.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime throughout the year, with heavier demands from January 1 to April 15, potentially exceeding 55 hours per week.
  • A minimum of seven to ten years of experience in public accounting, showcasing a progressive increase in tax complexity and scope.
  • At least two years of experience representing clients before tax authorities.
  • A minimum of one year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; a Master's degree in taxation is preferred.
  • Completion of at least forty hours of continuing education annually to maintain and enhance technical and business skills.
  • A current and valid CPA license is mandatory.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs.
