Position Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of a designated retail tax location. This position is tasked with leading store personnel and ensuring that business goals are achieved as outlined by the corporate office.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee office staffing, including recruitment and training of employees.
- Manage operations, customer relations, and logistics for the office.
- Develop associate work schedules and collaborate with the District Manager to ensure precise timekeeping and labor management.
- Implement approved marketing initiatives.
- Conduct in-person interviews with clients to ensure exceptional service.
- Generate and submit daily operational reports.
- Complete ongoing tax training and testing as required.
- Execute client-focused product initiatives as approved by corporate and provide training to associates.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive tax returns.
- Conduct timely performance evaluations and work with the District Manager to address any associate issues or performance challenges.
- Lead daily team meetings to communicate essential information to office staff.
- Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and compliant with standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to delegate tasks and provide effective coaching.
- Capacity to develop and nurture associates in a dynamic business setting.
- Proficient in computer use, particularly with Microsoft Office.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Must possess a PTIN or be eligible to obtain one.
- Sales experience is advantageous, as is proficiency in additional languages.
- A minimum of three years of prior tax preparation experience is required, or possession of Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position involves working in an office setting while supervising a team of employees, including Tax Preparers and Office Staff.
