The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a regional or national public accounting firm. Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of contemporary tax practices and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to effectively engage with clients while guiding and mentoring team members throughout various tax projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal, state, local, and specialized tax returns by gathering, analyzing, and organizing financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations; provide management with necessary recommendations; liaise with partners, staff, clients, legal representatives, financial institutions, tax authorities, and other relevant parties to guarantee accurate and timely tax reporting.
  • Compile and assess financial statements, reports, and records by synthesizing information and identifying trends.
  • Maintain professional standards and enhance technical knowledge through participation in workshops, seminars, publications, and professional organizations.
  • Contribute to the firm’s success by promoting efficient practices throughout all engagement phases while fostering positive client relationships.
  • Engage in community and professional organizations to enhance the firm’s visibility.
  • Manage a designated portfolio of clients while adhering to budgetary expectations.
  • Develop and mentor junior staff members.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a CPA designation with at least 5 years of supervisory tax experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Exhibit the ability to coordinate staff and client expectations through effective planning, issue resolution, and outcome measurement.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing project budgets and staff assignments.
  • Possess technological skills that facilitate the completion of tasks.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients and team members in a professional manner.
  • Show strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
